Marmite | Valentine’s Day

Machine Agency created this tactical Valentine’s Day campaign for Marmite, the brand loved since 1902. It includes radio ads and an illustrated poster series featuring the talents of Ian Jepson, Nicole Dalton and Clement De Bruin.

 

Here’s how the agency describes the work:

 

For most people, Valentine’s Day is a loathsome,excruciating day. All kinds of ridiculous pressure is put onto guys and girls to attend over-the-top dinner rendezvous with people they don’t even know, let alone like; and all because of the social expectation to go on a date. This is not on. This Valentine’s Day, Marmite stood up to the Awful Valentine’s Date Syndrome.

 

The concept was visualized and verbalized through the creation of five characters. Illustrations of all five personalities, as well as two radio ads were created, acting as prime examples of the un-dateable, encouraging people to rather spend this Valentine’s Day falling in love with a sure thing, Marmite.
