13 Feb Guide to DI 2013: Music Circuit
The Design Indaba Music Circuit is a full programme of performances by local musicians at venues across Cape Town over the conference dates, 27 February to 1 March 2013. In punchier terms: 32 artists, 8 venues, 3 days, 1 city.
Following last year’s A Taste of Sónar, the Music Circuit aims to create new experiences while giving new talent a fresh platform on which to showcase musical creativity.
What you need to know:
Believing that Cape Town resonates with the sound of music as much as it does artful design, architecture and natural beauty, Design Indaba 2013 has curated an ambitious musical tour of the city that will draw Design Indaba delegates, attendees and the music-loving public up close and personal with the very sound of Cape Town.
Concerts will take place after the main Design Indaba Conference closes for the day from 17:30. The first performance each evening is being held at DesignIndabar, the part pop-up bar, part art installation mobile trailer held opposite the CTICC during the conference. Subsequent performances are being held each evening at live music venues around Cape Town from 20:00.
Conference and Young Designers Simulcast delegates are given free access to one Design Indaba Music Circuit event of their choice. Exhibitors and delegates also get free entry to all three Music Circuit events held at Design Indabar. Members of the public will be able to buy tickets at the door to the venue of each individual event.
