QUAMTA is an African rooted luxury brand that makes handmade leather accessories. The name originates from the folklore of a native Southern African tribe and the QUAMTA monogram was born out of African symbolism representing a union of all creatures.
The promise of the brand is to create innovative, original and superior goods using honourable and sustainable techniques, and wherever possible they use local resources and materials in order to empower people and businesses.
The brand let us know what goes into the making of their luxury items and how they ensure a timeless product that will last for generations.
The QUAMTA HQ and design studio is based in Pretoria and it’s here that everything from initial concepts, research and product development to marketing and art direction originates.
The leather used is sourced from the best local and international tanneries and their manufacturer has a factory consisting of 50 highly specialized artisans that have spent over a decade working and training together. All the products are handcrafted and assembled in-house to assure quality with every step of the production line.
Hardware components like zips are one of the few imported materials sourced in Switzerland and Florence, Italy.
Once production is completed at the factory, the products are transported with all the necessary customs documents and certificates to the head office for final testing, quality checks and packaging. Once the products have received the stamp of approval they are then distributed and shipped throughout the world.
