Jade Klara Apteker, or just Jade Klara when it comes to her art, has recently launched a new portfolio site complete with a new logo and updated work. Jade Klara graduated with a BA from UCT in 2003 and a BA from Vega in 2007 and currently works as a freelance illustrator from her studio in Woodstock.
Her work, which all starts out hand drawn, ranges from girls, ghosts and creatures great and small for exhibitions to various illustration styles for advertising clients. Her work for Net#work BBDO and Chicken Licken brought home a Gold Craft Loerie in 2011.
Jade Klara’s artwork has been exhibited in London, LA, Portland and back home in Cape Town. Her next exhibition being The Witching Hour, a two person show with Candice Jezek at Salon91 later this year.
We wanted to share her latest with you which includes illustrations for the Mail & Guardian and the CI and product range for her new project, Spookasem. The illustrated brand of drinking glasses, bags and journals is a collaboration with fellow Cape Town based illustrator Dani Loureiro.
