Introducing: Narrative Truth

Last year we did a post on director Bauke Brouwer’s Just 60 Seconds short film series featuring local independent businesses. The mini films tell the stories of the brands and their makers in just 1 minute and do a good job of also showcasing Bauke’s love of story-telling.

Following this passion for telling stories, Bauke together with producer Candice Brouwer launched a boutique film studio this week called Narrative Truth. Their motto being “We do Story”.

About Narrative Truth:

Bauke combines his sensitivity for performance with his editing experience to make his films flow. Bringing any story to life is his passion and his craft is always evident in the final film. He believes there is a significant moment in any story, no matter its size.

Candice comes from a production and advertising agency background and has worked on television shows, international feature films, documentaries and commercials. Her last 6 years have been spent at an advertising agency working on well-known brands within Africa. She is a positive, forward-thinking producer with a passion for creativity and film, her eye for detail and ability to customise budgets make her an ideal producer.

Together they make an award-winning partnership. Bauke’s short film The Fallen received a finalist nomination in the FILMMINUTE international short film festival and was featured in the New Directors profile on the Shots reel, while Candice has received Loeries for her work in TV and Radio whilst in Advertising.

Through the positive response to Just 60 Seconds, the team discovered that most small companies are in need of bespoke films for online use. From online content to virals, documentaries and commercials, their philosophy is always story first.

Their newest project, and latest addition to the Just 60 Seconds series, is the video above featuring Lucas R Adams and his product design brand, Kraftisan.
