TEDxSoweto 2013 Talks Creativity



Bookmark the date Saturday 2 November 2013 as TEDxSoweto will be gathering some of the brightest and most creative minds in the country for insightful talks and ideas worth spreading. Hosted by Kelo Kubu and curated by Thati Mokgoro, the event is taking place at the extraordinary Soweto Theatre. This year’s theme is “Creativity – The Answer to All Questions” and judging by the line-up, it’s guaranteed to be an opulence of thought leaders and doers in South Africa .


In customary TEDx fashion, the diverse line-up has speakers who cover a full continuum of endeavours including – the unlikely inventor of the world’s first digital laser; the director of the most talked about TV show in South Africa; holder of the world female scuba diving record for depth; the gay couple who slaughtered the proverbial sacred cow; a gaming enthusiast who shatters more than a few assumptions; leader of the team that helped build the most innovative bank in the world; and author of one of the most widely read diaries in the world.

The independently organised TEDxSoweto event is where a small group of people combine to spark deep discussion and connection in the popular TEDTalks format. Although general guidance is provided by the TED Conference rules and regulations, TEDxSoweto is a self-organized event.
