Wishlist: Malibongwe Tyilo

Malibongwe Tyilo, Editor at Large at Visi Magazine and the man behind the humorous fashion blog/bible Skattie, What Are You Wearing?, tells us which local treasures he’d like to unwrap this festive season:

1. A Cinderwood Terrarium

I love these, just 1 (or two) would make my summer balcony the ultimate spot.

2. The Boombox Lumo by Missibaba

Naturally I would be happy with the entire Missibaba collection, mens and ladies for that matter. But the economy being what it is, I’ll still pledge undying love to whoever buys me this bag.

3. A Moonbasket motif carpet

Any of these carpets would do. I have a serious addiction to all things crafty and handmade, and I love these carpets in their unusual shapes.

4. An Indalo bag by Inga Gubeka

Inga

I love the idea of wearable plywood- it’s so beautiful! Available for R1000 from at Cape Town’s Neighbourgoods market.

5. A Pichulik piece

This specific piece by Pichulik is everything! She doesn’t really do mens pieces, but who cares?

6. Pretty much any painting by Lucie Demoyencourt

Lucie’s work screams eternal summer to me, and I could do with that.

7. A Pedersen + Lennard Stockholm Reading Lamp:

8. One of Modern Gesture‘s Milky Center Bowls:

9. Ceramic boxing gloves by Sootcookie‘s Tanya Laing

I love ceramics! While SA is a world leader in this department, sometimes they can look dated, that’s why I love Sootcookie, because they make them look so fresh, especially these boxing gloves.

10. A Gift Voucher to Babylonstoren Farm Hotel for 3 nights, plus Spa Treatments

This is the ultimate gift, and getting me this ensures a special place in my heart for at least three lifetimes.
