We first featured photographer Juan Stockenstroom’s Young Champions back in 2012. His latest series is something quite different, over-exposed, sun-soaked photographs of CT’s Sea Point.
He let us know more, “Sea Point Days, was a project I undertook without any preconceived ideas of what I wanted the final images to look like. I live in Sea Point – a populated suburb, situated between Signal Hill and the Atlantic Ocean, in Cape Town. So I simply grabbed my camera, and took a stroll down the Sea Point Promenade which is very busy during the December festive period, filled with holiday makers. I usually go for walks with my camera down Sea Point Main Road (be it night or day) or around the Cape Town CBD area. I find the the most interesting images are realized when no preplanning goes into to it. So I think spontaneity and sunshine made the project special.”
