Whether it’s because we’re busy or simply impatient, most things that require some time from us cause us to think twice. Having grown accustomed to the immediacy of modern technology, it requires a conscious decision on our part to actually slow our pace down every once in a while.
These are some of the things which we assume Sibs Shongwe-La Mer thought about when he set out to create Moment On Earth – a short art film exploring time through movement, colour and the bewilderingly soft pace of the earth.
Taking a cue from nature, as we all should, Moment On Earth takes us from one breathtaking scene to the next set against a backtrack of natural sounds. Much more than just a beautiful string of footage, however, it urges us to reflect on the fast pace of our own lives and to re-examine the way we think about time.
