#CreativeHustles for 2014 – Design Will Save the World?

This year, Live Magazine SA and the British Council Connect ZA will be hosting South Africa’s first #CreativeHustles – Design Will Save the World? events.

#CreativeHustles will be a succession of free events that will allow young South Africans – ages 18 to 30 years – access to a creative community where they can engage with and learn from industry professionals.

The first event will be taking place in both Cape Town and Johannesburg, and will feature an impressive selection of local and international designers and curators as guest speakers. #CreativeHustles will also give three emerging designers the chance to pitch their problem-solving products or ideas to the panel of design experts and the audience.

The first #CreativeHustles takes place on the 26th of February in Cape Town and the 3rd of March in Johannesburg.

Cape Town Speakers will include:

  • Daniel Charny – The curator and Founder of Fixperts from the UK
  • Mark Henning – A freelance designer and co-member of a design duo Blackhat and Nimbus
  • Jana Scholze – The curator of contemporary furniture and product design at the V&A Museum

  • Mokena Makeka – The creative and managing director of Makeka Lab cc
