Standard Bank TVC | Remember When You Felt Excited About Banking?

The latest Standard Bank ad by TBWA\Hunt\Lascaris and Egg Films takes us back to childhood through a young girl’s trip to a Standard Bank ATM with her father. On her way there the girl sees an assortment of characters and toys come alive in the city-scape from a small pink creature in a manhole to an enormous blue giant in between two buildings. A normally uneventful trip to an ATM is anything but that for a girl whose imagination is still flourishing.

The ad launches Standard Bank’s new app which aims, through technology, to put childlike joy back into managing your finances. The bank says, “Remember those exciting trips to the bank with your mom or dad when you got your first bank card or used the ATM for the first time. It’s time to feel that way again with our new app for tablets.”

Director Slim and his talented art department created 90% of the girl’s imagination in camera, with Sinister Studios handling the rest in post.

  1. Love this. Great VFX work. I tried the app and its pretty cool too.

  2. comment deleted?
    aah that’s too bad.

i really wanted to know why egg is now a one trick pony.

because i really like this ad.

  3. This is very nice, and it gives the rest of the campaign some much-needed context. I’d only seen the muppet monsters on the app microsite and in their YouTube videos (http://youtu.be/PYy-la_9uMEl for example…) before this, and they came across as childish/unprofessional.

  4. What is the songs title in this ad please. Thx

  5. Love the add. Also wanted to know what the title of the son is. I know its Louis Armstrong singing it. It fit so perfecrtly in with the add. Tx
