The vision for FRIENDS is to create a quality, informative, re-readable publication with fewer ads to make space for added substance. Each edition will cover the various interests of the modern man including skateboarding, business, music and design. The printed catalogue will be comprised of interviews with and work by prominent figures in culture and industry from Durban, Cape Town, Johannesburg, Hong Kong, New York and Seoul. Inside the 44-page publication you can also expect photographic essays, restaurant features, graphic comics and even a resident Agony Aunt.
Sounds awesome, right? Mathew and Louis have just launched a campaign on Indiegogo, to raise funds to print the first 1000 copies of FRIENDS. As soon as this happens the publication will launch with a series of social events planned for each major South African city, as well as Seoul and Hong Kong. There are also some pretty fantastic rewards on offer for those who back the project, including beanies and tees by Sol-Sol and limited edition prints by skullboy. Have a look and back FRIENDS here, if you’d like to. (P.S. The first 20 people to order a rewards package will receive a bonus bucket hat from Sol-Sol, so get moving!)
