The third instalment of the Missshape Ambassadors collection launches online today. Missshape’s Jamal Nxedlana created this collection in collaboration with Yasmin Furmie, whose fashion story includes modelling stints in Sydney and LA before becoming involved in social initiatives, and developing an increasing presence and influence in the South African fashion scene.
Yasmin’s fashion aesthetic demands attention. She has developed her own language through a sophisticated dress-code that moves from refined street wear, to sharp menswear-inspired styling and her contemporary take on the ‘new look’. It was this language that formed the basis of the new Ambassadors collection, which Jamal describes as “an attempt to create a graphic look in a low-key way”.
In keeping with the collaborative nature of the collection, the lookbook employs the collective talents of Lex Trickett Studio and Brett Rubin and Nicole van Heerden of Vatic to imagine an augmented reality future where computer generated images have replaced real-life models.
