19 Nov WISHLIST: Graphic Designer, Daniel Ting Chong
Our WISHLIST series is starting! During the festive season, we’ll be promoting only locally made products so that you can support South African creativity. We know international brands can be tempting but our country has so much to offer and we’re here to keep you in the loop on the newest SA-only desirables (for your wishlist, or gift ideas) – from shop directories and product listings to featured what-we-want lists from admirable and trend-setting South African individuals.
Daniel Ting Chong, an artist, graphic designer and illustrator, is our first contributor. He’s an infographic king and colour coordinator, whose work often includes mini characters, cartoons, images and icons. From printed patterns to socks to skateboard graphics and more, his portfolio of work is super interesting and fun to look through. Labelled as one of Cape Town’s top talents, we wanted to know what his local WISHLIST looked like. His top ten choices were:
1 / Sol-Sol Black Destroy Tee
2 / Athi-Patra Rugas Tapestries
3 / Chapel Caddy Backpack
4 / Artgrip Black A1 Frame
5 / Young & Lazy Black Crewneck
6 / Skinny LaMinx Cushion Cover Flowerfields
Need I say more? Heather’s work is so so good and well constructed from the scale and design of the pattern, down to the assemblage of her products.
7 / Pedersen + Lennard Jozi Shelf
8 / The Detailsmith – Espresso Cups
9 / 2Bop x Dr. Z Game Over Tee
10 / Wolter Made Vonk Lamp
