This week the Mother City hosts a video edition of Show & Tell, an illustration sale and an exhibition of independent local comic art. There’s also a Kendell Geers solo, a collective Christmas party, Creative Mornings and an interactive album launch. Here’s when to be where so you don’t miss out:
Thursday, 11 December
The Between 10and5 (that’s us!) Show & Tell ‘Video Edition’ is taking place at the brand new Twenty Fifty co-working space.
For this edition of Show & Tell, an evening of creative talks hosted by yours truly, we’re keeping to a video and film theme. Speakers include Jolynn Minnaar (Un_Earthed), Julia Anastasopoulos (Suzelle DIY) and Kurt Orderson (Not In My Neighbourhood). They will share their inspiration, insight into their creative processes and some unseen footage.

SYLVAN AZTOK album launch is taking place at the Hans Niehaus Gallery.
Sylvan Aztok is a Cape Town based, vuddu rave, drift fabric, electronic music producer who has devoted his heart and mind to the dreamality. He’ll be launching his debut albums, s z and Confronting the Awakening, which promise an unexpected and interactive experience. He is working with ‘Rebecca makes space’ to build an immersive installation for his axsonametric sound, at the Hans Niehaus Gallery, a most beautiful and mysterious zspace hall.

Friday, 12 December
The last Creative Morning of 2014 takes place at Friends of Design Academy.
DJ and Web Designer and Developer Daine Mawer will be the guest speaker. Based in Cape Town, he’s spent the last few years imparting knowledge of all kinds of creative disciplines to youngsters at various tertiary institutions, currently at Friends of Design. A self-confessed, self-taught, jack-of-all-trades with a B.A in Creative Brand Communication from Vega, he prides himself on his ability to constantly learn.

Saturday, 13 December
A solo show by Kendell Geers titled AniMystikAKtivist is opening at Goodman Gallery Cape Town.
AniMystikAKtivist the exhibition recalls the activism of the young South African artist making his name in a full frontal attack against the conservatism of the Apartheid institutions, but now fully developed into a transnational spiritual dimension. Once dubbed the “Enfant Terrible” of South African art, Geers has since matured into an artist with a profound understanding of indigenous Shamanic practices that he uses as part of his creative process.

BLIKSEM!, an exhibition of comic art and artists is opening at Change Room to launch ComicArtAfrica, the new sister publication of ARTsouthAFRICA.
BLIKSEM! is a showcase of original art and limited edition prints by some of the best talent currently producing independent comics in the local arena. Prints and comic books will be for sale too.

O.K. & M.C Illustration Sale , a once off sale of work by Olivie Keck and Mia Chaplin is taking place.
Olivie Keck and Mia Chaplin host a once off illustration sale as part of Open Studios. Works will be affordable and available in A5 and A4. Easy on the eye and the pocket.

Monday, 15 December
A Collective Christmas end of the year party for Cape Town’s creative community is taking place at the new Twenty Fifty co-working space.
Inviting those individuals that make this city a hub for design, tech, media, and cultural entrepreneurship. They might freelance from home, work at an agency, or have a small studio, but this is where they come together to celebrate the year gone by and make new connections for the year to come. Music by Luca Vincenzo, Wildebeats and Kimon.
