In December last year, two young South African entrepreneurs who share a perpetual passion for summer launched Granadilla: a men’s beachwear brand inspired by Clifton 4th Beach’s iconic granadilla lollies. Their debut collection demonstrates a fresh approach and a sense of humour – featuring flamingo, pineapple, beetle and of course granadilla printed swimshorts which first came to our attention through a series of striking campaign images.
It was in mid-2014 that Adam Duxbury approached Joshua Meltz with the idea to create Granadilla as an e-commerce oriented, locally designed and manufactured beachwear brand that would ultimately compete on the international scene. Adam’s passions lie in design and fashion, and he has experience in management consulting and e-commerce. Josh has a retail background (MELTZ factory stores) and he’s successfully started and sold his first company in Edinburgh.
With their roots in mind, The Granadilla Boys have committed to donate 5% of their profits to charitable causes helping to promote entrepreneurship in South Africa. Granadilla products are easily purchased online at www.granadillaswim.com (with free delivery, overnight shipping to main cities and returns and exchanges permitted) or at select retail stores around the country.
