13 Jan The First South African Menswear Week Launches in Cape Town
With menswear often taking a backseat in the local fashion industry, the freshly launched South African Menswear Week is hoping to usher in a new era for fashion. Kicking off with 3 days of runway shows by over 25 of the most exciting local menswear designers is a pretty impressive start. The first SAMW takes place from 4 February – 7 February in Cape Town and will continue to be a biannual event showing the best Spring Summer and Autumn Winter menswear collections. The upcoming AW15 SAMW line-up includes runway shows by the likes of Laduma Ngxokolo, Jenevieve Lyons and Lukhanyo Mdingi – local designers who have been creating beautiful work in the past year and we’re pretty excited to see them showcase their latest alongside others in a space dedicated to men’s fashion. Aiming to keep SAMW intimate, the shows will have limited seating available to the public. Tickets to SAMW Autum Winter 2015 go on sale to the public this Friday, the 16th of January 2015, through Webtickets, so keep an eye on the SAMW website and follow SAMW on Twitter to stay updated.
