23 Feb Laura Windvogel in a Gauguin-Inspired Collab with Gabriella Achadinha
In a Q&A with We-Are-Awesome, Gabriella reveals that the shoot came about through stylist Asher Daniel. “I’ve always been a fan of Laura’s work, personality and look – but it was ultimately Asher who connected the dots and brought the collaboration into being.” Not one to shy away from topics that are still surrounded by stigma, Laura describes her own work as “slightly offensive watercolours” and it is this confrontational aspect that Gabriella admires, who says that Laura “deals with sexuality and relationships in a refreshing, aesthetically delicious way.”
The images, featuring Laura (adorned by Caracal Jewellery) and her work, are inspired by the sensual, mysterious and enigmatic paintings of Gauguin. “I see Laura as exactly that, and that’s how it was decided to depict her,” says Gabriella.
