18 Mar Caroline Mackintosh Shoots Young and Lazy’s Experimental New Collection
Anees Petersen’s Young and Lazy put a new lookbook out on Sneaky Magazine this week, shot by the ever-fantastic Caroline Mackintosh. “It is essentially an experimental collection which we created to indicate our progression towards becoming a more high-end fashion brand,” the label’s Nur-Reza Salie tells us.
Since the get go Japanese culture and fashion have influenced Young and Lazy, and these form the primary inspiration for the pieces in the new collection. Most of the garments are constructed out of suiting material which speaks of the brand’s interesting and unexpected new headings. The lookbook visuals are deliberately clean and soft, with an emphasis on the clothing rather than the branding. The shoot explores the direction they’d like to take going forward as they consider the likelihood of entering the women’s market.
Though Young and Lazy has always been recognised as a street wear brand, their latest collection marks a turning point. Nur-Reza explains “We’d like to break away from this label to produce clothing which showcases more of Anees’ ability as a designer.”
