The latest project from stylist Gabrielle Kannemeyer and photographer Travys Owen (who recently worked together on surreal campaign images for Lukhanyo Mdingi and a brilliant music video for Petite Noir) is a dreamy series for a festival concept store; think vintage-style dresses with sheer kaftans, textured crop tops, chunky jewellery, bold blues and folk patterns worn casually to combat the summer haze.
The once-off collection also features hooped ribbon skirts, sequin bustiers, embellished knit-wear and crocheted dresses – all of which will be available exclusively at Littlegig, an intimate 24-hour festival having it’s debut next year. All items are curated by artist-designer Shirley Fintz and fashion designer Lindy Cohen, while Heath Nash is designing the pop-up store to house them all using recyclable materials.
Littlegig is taking place just outside of Cape Town on 13-14 February 2016 and will include carefully curated bars as well as installations by top designers and artists such as Porky Hefer and Lyndi Sales. American singer-songwriter Diane Birch is headlining the music line-up, and there will be food by award-winning restaurateur, Bertus Basson. For info about the festival go to www.littlegig.co.za
