Petite Noir Meets His Virtual Self in the Eerie Video for ‘La Vie Est Belle / Life Is Beautiful’

Yannick Ilunga aka Petite Noir navigates his own virtual reality – part wonderland, part nowhere-land – in the music video for ‘La Vie Est Belle / Life Is Beautiful’ featuring Baloji.

This eerie and absorbing alternate universe was brought to life by director and documentarian Alan Del Rio Ortiz, in partnership with Yannick’s creative director, girlfriend and fellow Drone Society member Rochelle Nembhard, as part of the Urban Outfitters music video series. Alan says, “The overall concept is of [Petite Noir] falling into a virtual reality world where he meets his virtual self. It has to do with thoughts on reality and what we perceive versus what actually exists.”

‘La Vie Est Belle / Life Is Beautiful’ is the title track off Petite Noir’s album of the same name, recently released via Domino Records. Buy it on iTunes here, and see the Noirwave star’s incredible music video for ‘Best’ here.
