11 Nov Marie Antoinette Inspired Graphic Collages by Debbie Turner
Debbie Turner’s day job as a senior digital designer at Liquorice Agency had her eager to experiment with a more tactile art form, a medium that would allow her to have fun and mix various elements to create something new. Collage fit this bill and so with paper, scissors and a whole lot of imagination she’s been making choppy, graphic images.
The series shown here is inspired by Sophia Coppola’s film, Marie Antoinette and contains a colour pallete of dusty blues, neon pinks, and a touch of gold or copper. Stylistically, Debbie also referenced vintage fashion and National Geographic magazines. The result is aesthetically pleasing and strikes a playful balance between masculine and feminine elements.
