16 Nov A Message-On-A-Bottle Bromance in Castle Lager’s ‘Coming Home’ TVC
Something of a mini blockbuster, Castle Lager’s ‘Coming Home’ commercial directed by Egg Films’ Sunu Gonera follows four friends as they journey to find the missing link in their circle, Siya. With their bags packed they went in search of him, armed with Tippex pens to mark every Castle Lager bottle they came across with the details of their reunion. Siya found one of these bottles and returned to surprise his bros in an emotionally charged ending.
This message-on-a-bottle bromance was Sunu’s second Castle ad for Ogilvy this year, following on from the popular ‘Superfans’ collaboration – which was comprised of largely the same cast. With part of the job shot on location in Malinda (Kenya), the footage captures the authentic textures of Africa. ‘Coming Home’ is in celebration of 120 years of the iconic South African beer and portrays the lengths good friends will go to for one another.
