#NowPlaying: The Kalashnikovv Proudly South African Chill Mix

The enfants terrible of the Joburg art world, team Kalashnikovv, have compiled a chilled out playlist of all-local electronic tunes to bid farewell to this year usher in 2016. These are some of the tunes that will no doubt be playing at this year’s Kalashnikovv New Year’s Eve party after the clock has struck 12. This legendary rooftop jol has become a Jozi fixture for those who stay in the city rather than flocking to the coast. This year the party will go down on the top floor of the Aerial Empire building in Maboneng.

Spanning the pioneers and the new school of SA electronic music, this playlist includes legends like Felix Laband and Sibot, as well as Christian Tiger School, Watermark High, Escapism Refuge as well as other young producers making a noise on the local electronic scene. “The Kalashnikovv is all about the journey into the complexities and beauty of South Africa,” says Matthew Dean and Murray Turpin, “come and enjoy the ride with us.”
