Nedbank is launching the Wonderland Project at Design Indaba

At this year’s Design Indaba, Nedbank is opening our eyes to the life-changing possibilities of design and helping transform the lives of communities across the country by repurposing ATMs into works of wonder. With a firm commitment to Make Things Happen and with the help of SA’s best creative minds, they aim to transform decommissioned ATMs into innovative and functional objects.

In line with their ethos as the green and caring bank, Nedbank’s Wonderland Project invites Design Indaba conference and simulcast delegates to use the power of creativity and design to imagine what something no longer of use could become. The astonishing gadgets they dream up can assist with community growth in the spheres of health, education, skills development, and more – anything that makes South Africa a better place. DI attendees who wish to enter are welcome to expand on the brief, as long as ATM components form part of the main idea – these can be shared via the #NedbankWonderthon activation at Design Indaba or on social media. The winner of #NedbankWonderland will receive an all-expenses paid 2 week work experience at an international Google Creative Lab.

Also during Design Indaba, Nedbank is presenting a first-time collaboration between Beatenberg and the Kyle Shepherd Trio, an unmissable headline music mash-up combining the sounds of South African indie pop and jazz. These talented artists have worked together on a unique aural experience and are performing for one night only.

NOTE: #NedbankWonderland is open to Design Indaba conference or simulcast delegates only.
