Bushveld Labs thrive on radical, disruptive and bold ideas. The studio is a design and engineering consultancy that specialises in rapid product/solution development involving mechanical & mechatronic systems, physical computing and interactive media. At Alight the studio will present a variety of interactive LED installations in places where you’d least expect to find them…
Specialising in motion graphic design & videography for a wide range of projects, Warren will be presenting his project Synced in the City at Alight. This projection mapping installation comprises 7 cubes forming a diamond shaped three dimensional surface. The projection showcases an audio-visual relationship, being inspired by visual music as the two – auditory and visual – sensors become one. The visuals are designed specifically for the surface, creating visual trickery as there is an illusion between the 2D visuals and 3D space.
Shen will be presenting his installation Limitless Slip Dome at Alight, and describes it as follows: There are many worlds. They exist along side each other, just beyond our perceptions. Membranes, thin as the lightest silk separates them, preserving order, allowing our lives to glide gently over those elsewhere. On rare occasions, the barrier weakens, and one dimension slips into another. We found such a spot, stabilised it, and wrestled it under our control. We don’t know how much longer we can sustain it. Come gaze upon this wonder. There’s also some flashing lights…
