27 Oct Batuk’s ‘Força Força’ video takes feminism to the red light district
Batuk’s music video for ‘Força Força’ has just dropped. Carla Manteiga says, “The song is about love, grabbing it by the horns and riding it into the neon sunrise”. The video was shot in various locations in Paris’ seedy 18th district, commonly known as Quartier de la Butte Montmartre, and took three days to produce, direct and edit.
The pulsating and spellbinding neon theme features all the symbols typically associated with the red light district, but the song is feminist and speaks about women taking charge of their sexuality, thereby subverting stigmas traditionally associated with women and sex. ‘Força Força’ is Batuk’s sixth music video from their debut album Musica de Terra which was released in May this year.
