It’s the opening week of La Biennale di Venezia and a carry-all is a must. As you move through each exhibition, picking up catalogues and more, you end up collecting a lot of things.
During this biennale, it’s more apparent than ever that there’s no better way to broadcast your pavilion or cause than with a tote. Most notable around the Arsenale and Giardini, and the rest of the city is the Australian pavilion’s “Refugee Rights” and “Indigenous Rights” bags that amplified the Tracey Moffat solo show. The Aussies brought 5 000 with them to Venice and half way through day two, they handed out the last one.
