08 Jun Joburg owns the moment by transforming city bus shelters
In an effort to celebrate and showcase life’s many happy moments and achievements, both big and small, Halls created the Own The Moment campaign. The campaign encourages people from across the country to share their happy moments via the Halls website for the chance to win R250 000.
These moments are now being brought to life across the city with the help of designer and artist duo, Faatimah and Al Luke.
Moments from various South Africans have been selected and will be turned into artistic representations for everyone to enjoy. Faatimah and Al spent two weekends installing these everyday moments at bus shelters across Johannesburg, a project that also reinvented and added some life to bus shelters in Rosebank, Braamfontein, Milpark & Melville.
Faatimah Mohamed-Luke is a fashion, graphic, interior and jewellery designer as well as a founding partner of adam&eve, a Cape Town-based designer fashion label. Along with this project for Halls, her current focus is creating large-scale art made of plastic building blocks.
Al Luke, who is the creative director at Blacksheep Design Studio, is passionate about creating a new African style which challenges the definitive global views and opinions of the continent.
