Lungile Mbokane’s futuristic, afro-punk take on the African culture

Lungile Mbokane, a graphic designer by profession, recently partnered with photographer Louisa Seton to create a series of futuristic, afro-punk illustrations that have been added to his latest collection, Hipnotic.

Hypnotic was born after Lungile began combining collage art and African-inspired art. After needing more references to keep the project going, he began collaborating with African photographers, which included Louisa, to achieve these African-futurism themed illustrations.

Louisa studied Fine Art at Rhodes University and majored in photography. Her photography work has been published in coffee table books and has featured in various magazines and newspapers including, Pro Photo, African Geographic, Home Beautiful, the Daily Telegraph and CNN Travel.
