The Queer and Curious book club

The Queer and Curious book club is a coming together of like-minded individuals who are , you guessed it, queer and curious. The aim of the club is to come together and discuss literature that exemplifies the richness of queer life in Africa, and sometimes beyond.

The club is a celebration of literature, but also a safe and social space where LGBTQ readers can come together and find meaning in the things they’re reading, and to find similarities in their own lives – both with the texts and with one another.

The event is held on the last Saturday of every month at Bridge Books in Maboneng, and the June edition will discuss Tendai Huchu‘s The Hairdresser of Harare, a comedy of two rival hairdressers in Harare.
