Crystal Birch’s New Collection Gives Disney a Dark Fantastical Twist

If the hat isn’t quirky, then it’s probably not a Crystal Birch original – Jack Parrow’s gold ol’ cap is proof of this, but so is her latest collection.

South African milliner and creative director extraordinaire Crystal Birch needs no introduction. As the brains behind South Africa’s biggest bespoke hat studio and factory, she still ahead of the game – see what we did there? The latest edition to the online store is the Disney Funeral collection and it’s dark and fantastical.

The DISNEY FUNERAL collection boils at the intersection of wonder, beauty, and fragility. One can imagine oneself at the main mouse’s finale, scoping out the experimental headspace-generators complete with extravagant pompoms, bows, ears, and pearls that function as 3D polka dots befitting Mickey’s best gal.

Black and white fabrics make up the collection’s palette, expect to find berets, bows and bold shapes. This Mickey Mouse’s Funhouse like you’ve never seen him before and for those who love a good transitional accessory, these hats are worth bagging.
