Mongezi Mcelu, a 24 year old Johannesburg photographer and co-founder of Nobody Else Creative Agency, recently collaborated with fashion designer Lwazi Madonsela on a zine project titled, Iksasa Elethu.
Using the agency as a platform, Mongezi continues to hone his artistic and entrepreneurial skills. He is inclined to tackle visual narratives that revolve around the preservation of black heritage. Mongezi is also currently a student at the Market Photo Workshop where he challenges himself to explore different genres of photography such as documentary and art photography to develop a signature visual language.
Iksasa Elethu is a DIY project that highlights our transition from traditions as they are integrated into a modernised future using fabrics.
