ORMS Collaborates With 16 Artists on Limited Edition Wallpaper Collection

Professional printing and framing studio ORMS recently partnered with 16 South African artists to launch their limited edition range of wallpapers.

The studio is best known for being a pioneer in providing photography equipment and advanced printing to a horde of upbeat clients. They also offer a wide-range of solutions for various innovative briefs from professional printing and framing, to display and décor concepts, exhibition and design services, as well as great gifting ideas.

Head of Décor Printing at ORMS Leah Barling discusses the brand’s bold move into the world of home décor and design, and what the inspiration behind this move is. “We get a lot of requests for custom-printed wallpaper designs, as our customers want something unique for their homes and businesses. The images on stock libraries are often generic and overdone, and our clients are after something more personal, more locally oriented, and bespoke,” she shares. “When you decide to transform your interior space, you want something that is unique and that you can personally relate to. That’s when we realised we could create a platform where our artists could interact directly with our clients.”

For all those wondering what the benefits of using wallpaper instead of painting are, custom-printed wallpaper is a cost effective way of transforming the entire space. Leah says that “the wallpaper is easy to remove and mess-free, so if you decide to change the wallpaper design, it’s just a case of pulling off the wallpaper, wiping off the excess glue residue and then you are free to replace it with another design.”

The local artists ORMS collaborated with are Ahimsa Ali, ARK Paper Studio, Katie Lund, Frances White, Andrea Brand, Cecile Nowars, Liffey Joy, Mariette Kotze, Aimee Hall, Fleur Le Cordeur, Lisa Strachan, Nicole Carr, Andrew Hofmeyr, Gany Beyers, Maria Baumann and Si Maclennan.
