The DStv Seminar of Creativity, taking place during the Loeries Creative Week offers advertisers, marketers, designers and all members of the creative industry the opportunity to attend seminars featuring some of the top global leaders in brand communication.

The seminar, which will be held at the ICC in Durban[ from 23 August] will feature international speakers who will share their perspectives on current and future global trends. The Loeries Jury Presidents, a partner of one of the world’s biggest creative thinking agencies, and a creative organizer who has won over 150 awards are amongst the confirmed speakers.

Ralf Heuel is the OOH, Live and PR Jury President for 2019. Ralf is CCO and Partner at Grabarz & Partner, in Hamburg – the agency he co-founded as a junior copywriter in 1993. At the time, the company comprised just five employees. Today, Ralf has made the agency one of the most creative in the country, with over 300 staff members, and has repeatedly catapulted Grabarz & Partner into the top five of the most creative German agencies.

Grabarz & Partner is responsible for the domestic and international accounts of Volkswagen, Porsche, IKEA, Burger King, EURONICS, and Melitta.

Grabarz & Partner has been named one of ‘The World’s Leading Independent Agencies’ and ‘Agency of the Year’.

Nedal Ahmed
Senior copywriter, 72andSunny
Amsterdam

Nedal Ahmed, Film and Radio Jury President, is a senior copywriter at 72andSunny in Amsterdam, whose portfolio includes “The Talk”, the 2018 Cannes Lions Grand Prix and Emmy-winning film for Procter & Gamble, which offers an insight into the realities of racism in America.

Nedal was born in Libya to Sudanese parents and lived in Egypt and Yemen before immigrating to the United States at age 11. Her work includes “Mama Said Knock You Out”, a spot from Chase featuring Serena Williams; and #OneGoodReason, an anti-smoking campaign for CVS, which was subsequently praised by Michelle Obama.

She is currently featured on the Forbes 30 under 30 – Marketing and Advertising 2019, and The Drum x 50 Under 30 US Women in Advertising. She has eight Cannes Lions to her name, five One Show Gold Pencils and nine D&AD pencils.

Katja Thielen
Co-Founder, Together Design
London

London-based Katja Thielen is the Design Jury President for the Loeries 2019. Katja co-founded Together Design in 2003 and she brings an impeccable eye, and over 20 years of design experience to the judging team.

Katja has created an attractively fine job for a wide variety of interesting customers such as Fortnum & Mason, Caffè Nero, Roald Dahl, Gordon’s Gin, Peter Rabbit, the London Museum and five Royal Mail stamps collections. She has extensive experience in both B2B and B2C.
