16 Sep Belgian Beer Café: The New Trendy Pop Up Bar in Parkhurst
There’s a new trendy bar in Joburg and it’s the perfect spot to spend your spring nights with friends, sipping on Belgian beer and watching the world go by. Officially launched on the 27th of August at The Blank Bar on 4th Avenue in Parkhurst, The Belgian Beer Cafe is home to three mega Belgian beer brands – Hoegaarden, Stella Artois and Leffe.
To bring customers the ultimate Belgian experience, the pop-up bar features live performances, quiz nights and much more. Fashion influencer Keneilwe Mothoa, photographer Deji Dada, TV presenter Gemaén Jordan Taylor and Johannesburg based photographer Themba Mbuyisa were amongst the guests that were at the opening night.
“I loved the Belgian beer cafe launch because it was intimate, you could mingle with great people and order a drink with ease, which is vital. The location was cool, it was easy to get to and it was safe” – Keneilwe Mothoa.
“The curation of the event was very much relaxed and it seemed like everyone had a good time, the pairing of the beer and the food was stunning. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed the launch and would do it again in a heartbeat.”
“I was actually impressed with the deco setup to start with, it made me think that the bar had been there and could possibly become a permanent thing. It felt like a bar I would trust. I enjoyed the beer pairing with food, it takes you to the journey of how beer can be enjoyed in various ways to suit the occasion happening that time.” – Themba Mbuyisa
