MABUTA Announces Tour Dates for JHB & CPT

Future-jazz group MABUTA returns for a mini-tour playing four shows in Joburg and Cape Town. Lead by SAMA award-winning bassist Shane Cooper, the group is known for epic shows that traverse deep Afrocentric groove spaces and cinematic journey songs.

Their sound incorporates elements of energetic jazz, electronic music, and world music colors. Featuring Shane Cooper on basses, Bokani Dyer on keyboards, Marlon Witbooi on drums, Sisonke Xonti on tenor sax, and Robin Fassie on trumpet, their live shows are known to be epic journeys through heavy groove spaces, as well as cinematic dreamscapes.

Their debut album Welcome To This World has seen big international support since its release in 2018.

The album has also brought the music into the club space with remixes by artists like Slugabed (Ninja Tune), Daedelus (Brainfeeder), and more. Their 2nd studio album will be released in 2020.
