If you haven’t heard, we have been up to some pretty cool stuff lately. Last week, we hosted two Creative Trend Talks – one at WeWork in Rosebank, Johannesburg and another one at The Onyx Apartments Hotel in Foreshore, Cape Town.
What is Creative Trend Talk?
Creative Trend Talk is a showcase presented by our very own publisher and CEO, Uno de Waal. In essence, the talk concerned itself with current and upcoming trends in media and advertising, cultural events, brand collaborations, as well as the growth and sustainability of the creative class in South Africa.
Bombay Sapphire, Foschini Group, Superbalist, Media24, King James, Scout, Carat, Unilever, TRACE TV, and BASA were some of the big organisations that attended CTT – over and above the insightful talk, guests were treated to coffee, fresh fruit juice and pastries from Vida e Caffe. CTT also provided unlike brands with the rare opportunity to network and possibly collaborate.
What’s the focus of Trend Talk?
Brand collaborations with creatives and influencers; as well as how brands can tap into the creative class and make use of youth, street, and creative culture. De Waal spoke about the growing identity of brands such as H&M, Devils Peak, Budx, House of Vans, AfroPunk and Yogisip to mention a few.
