Butan Streetwear Brand and local football club, Kaizer Chiefs launched Africa’s first true streetwear and sports collaboration last night at the Shesha Lifestyle Store in Rosebank, Johannesburg. The official launch came after Kaizer Chiefs tweeted about the collaboration early this month.
The collection is a 5-piece capsule range consists of a windbreaker anorak, a short sleeve t-shirt, a reversible bucket hat, socks, and nylon shorts.
The two brands share the same goal – which is to celebrate and embrace South African culture.
“We are excited to collaborate with a young and vibrant South African brand such as Butan. The excitement on social media since the announcement shows that our supporters have been waiting for something like this for a long time. We sure hope they will enjoy wearing the range,” says Kaizer Chiefs Marketing Director Jessica Motaung.
“We’ve been working with the guys for a while now on this project. We wanted to ensure that we bring our supporters great products that they will be proud to wear in the street, at stadiums and various events,” adds Motaung.
The full collection drops on 30 October nationwide from retailers such Shesha, Madaiza (Nelspruit), Hype (Durban), Street Cred (Bloemfontein), Sneakers Edition and Kaizer Chiefs Village Naturena store.
