The Vrystaat Arts Festival is proud to announce the next edition of its Vrynge Visual Arts Programme, scheduled to be held during the 20th Vrystaat Arts Festival from 29 June to 5 July 2020 in Bloemfontein. Vrynge forms part of the Vrystaat Arts Festival and creates a platform for existing, upcoming, developing and experimental artists.
The Vrynge Visual Arts Programme is an artist-driven event and provides a space for any medium by a visual artist, either experimental or non-traditional, to present and perform their work to a local and international audience.
Vrynge works on a radical self-reliance basis with artists populating the space themselves, with works to be independently developed, funded and run. The campus of the University of the Free State plays home to the festival. The Vrynge Visual ArtsProgramme is held at the exam complex on campus, a multi-roomed building ideal for a variety of installations.
Artists or artist groups interested in taking part in the 2020 Vrynge Visual Arts Programme are welcome to submit proposals with the application fee prior to 31 December 2019. A venue hire fee, to be negotiated later, will be
subject to project needs.
There is no selection process and fully paid submissions will be allowed to participate in the Vrynge Visual Arts Program. Consequently projects will be artist-curated. A one-page proposal should include a clear description, intention and specifications of the project. Images should be included,
but may not exceed 2MB.
For more information and to submit proposals, email Vian Roos at email@example.com before 31 December 2019, or visit vrystaartartsfestival.co.za.
