The KZNSA Gallery Presents ‘Still City’ – A Solo Exhibition by Aik Christodoulou

From the 14th to the 22nd of November, art enthusiasts are invited to the KZNSA Gallery to view the mesmerizing photographic exhibition by Aik Christodoulou.

The photographic body of work, Still City looks  at familiar spaces. In a world that is moving fast, these photographs are about slowing down and taking time to examine the small moments and structures we forget to look at in the rush of everyday life.

Photographed on an analogue camera, with no light meter, the process was intended to help photographer Aik Christodoulouslow slow down and to properly consider what is and what is not of interest to him.

Pushing back against the instant gratification of the digital world these photographs allow for mistakes and the unexpected.

Aik Christodoulou grew up in Kokstad in the KwaZulu Natal countryside. He currently resides in Durban where he is pursuing a career in photography. Shifting between black and white, colour, digital and film.Christodoulou’s   work covers multiple genres, however, his primary interests lie in fashion, architecture and landscape photography.
