In October, South African DJ/producer Mr. Blasé released his debut international release with famed Afro House label, MoBlack Records.
The song, Niyabaleka, has gone on to dominate international music charts on Apple Music, Defected Radio, Traxsource, and Beatport. It has also received major support from Black Coffee and other international artists like & me, Rampa and Lehar.
Collaborating with singer, Yolanda Fyrus, the two came up with the protest song that implores people in power to honour those that they are meant to serve and not to run away from promises that they’ve made a sentiment – especially pertinent in South Africa, but also globally relevant.
The song title, Niyabaleka, means “you are running away” in isiXhosa, South Africa’s second most spoken language.
The song is available on all major digital streaming and buying platforms and can be streamed here.
