With the country being on lockdown for just over 21 days, things are starting to get rather hectic and overwhelming, however, in spite of all of the gloominess, some creatives have found ways to bring a bit of humour to the chaos.
Having established that humour is one of the many ways we can get through this, quick-witted entertainer and comedian, Donovan Goliath was inspired by the lockdown to create ad-like content referencing renowned fashion brands – including Levi’s, Hugo Boss, Dolce & Gabbana, Polo, Louis Vuitton, Yves Saint Laurent, and Chanel.
Goliath’s ad-like creations feature well-known South African violinist, Davina Mae Gordon. Through these images, the pair highlights the reality of the lockdown and what each day looks like – from hoarding toiletries, constantly sanitizing, the never-ending chores and cooking, our daily lockdown ‘drip’, and of course, the Zoom meetings.
