07 May vida e caffè Shortlists 10 Illustrators for New Sustainable Takeaway Coffee Cups Limited Edition Designs
Following a rigorous evaluation of the extensive number of portfolio submissions we received from highly talented illustrators, we are excited to share that vida e caffè have chosen 10 illustrators to participate in designing their sustainable takeaway coffee cups. From over 230 submissions, the list has been narrowed down to 10 illustrators who will be contacted directly.
In March, vida e caffè launched a call-to-entry which invited illustrators from across South Africa to submit their portfolios to stand a chance to be chosen to conceptualise and create an innovative limited edition design for the brand’s new and improved sustainable takeaway coffee cups.
The competition offers the 10 chosen illustrators an exciting opportunity to not only boast their creative work on the fast-growing coffee retailer’s packaging, but also showcase this to a wider audience at the Cape Town Coffee Festival as part of the Coffee Art Project. Additionally, a selection of three of the best designs, selected with the help of vida e caffè’s community, will be printed onto the takeaway coffee cups which will be distributed across 300+ vida e caffè stores nationwide.
However, due to the untimely outbreak of COVID-19 which has led to a nationwide lockdown, a number of planned events have been forced to cancel or postpone until further notice – one of these being the Cape Town Coffee Festival, which was set to take place on the 9th and 10th of May.
This has unfortunately affected vida e caffè’s plans to move on to the next stage with the shortlisted illustrators. Further details and the way forward will be communicated by the brand.
