#AfricaMonth: Digital Artist Adekunle Adeleke Celebrates Africans Through Portraiture

Self-taught digital artist and surrealist painter, Adekunle Adeleke creates striking portraits that celebrate Africans – inspired by women, African beauty, and all things in between.

Adeleke started drawing from an early age and like many artists, his journey began with a pencil and paper, he was later drawn to a range of mediums while he was a university student. In 2014, he developed a profound admiration for colour and classical art, and began exploring ways of creating his paintings digitally.

The digital artist creates work that depicts his vivid imagination, he asks viewers to look at his work long enough to delve deep into the detail, the significance of the subject and hopes that they derive their own meaning of each piece
