13 May Your Weekly Dose Of Creative Cool | MI HATS, CURRENT EXHIBITIONS, PEARL JEWELLERY AND BOILERROOM
PHOTOGRAPHY & FASHION
Photographer @iamkeithvirgo has been busy with a new collaborative photo series exploring elements of community. This visual diary sees Keith working with Creative director @tambruinders and various muses, as they each fashion a Mi hat in either a domestic or social setting.
“…the hat has an identity of its own but transforms when you wear it. Morphing to the uniqueness of the individual, making the hat not just for Mi. but for everybody. At Mi we live by the notion community is everything and status is irrelevant. The hat is complete unisex and every possible kind of person can wear it. It represents everyone…” he says.

Working with Cape-Town based photographer Michael Oliver Love and stylist Suuz Bisschops, The Felt SS22 Collection, enters an other-worldly dimension which ‘crosses borders between fiction and reality’.
The stylist on this project, Suuz Bisschops, curated looks using garments and accessories from several local brands and talents. We are obsessed with Felt SS22 collection Drop 1 – Psychedelic, which features @purposeandform_cpt’s fashionable crochet-style items.

Black Betty: The Collection Pearl
Originally launched in December of 2021, Black Betty continues to supply us with its best seller jewellery collection, Pearl. As told on their Instagram page, “A particle slips through an oyster’s shell and as a defence the oyster covers it up with nacre (mother-of-pearl). This is the beautiful story of the pearl’s creation: Difficulty becomes power , becomes beauty, becomes Pearl ”.
