[image title="squidfight-big-wp" size="full" id="805" align="none" linkto="viewer" ] We featured The Western Nostril on Monday which Alex Latimer does with is brother Patrick. We're absolutely in love with the quirky designs Alex has done for his clients such as Mens Health, Good Taste, Shape, etc. His own site has more of his work, and we sincerely hope to feature more of his stuff on 10and5. Fly on the Wall productions are pretty excited about the release of the Fokofpolisiekar movie launch (that's movie, not music video). Judging by the trailer, so are we! FOKOFPOLISIEKAR, a film about 5 young afrikaans punk rockers that transformed a generation during a unique time in...

We've previously mentioned that November is Student Month here at 10and5 and we're planning on sticking to the theme. Next week and Wednesday (the 18th of November) you can view all the work from CPUT design faculty. In their words: The official opening takes place from 6pm...

Something really cool is happening at Punkskelm stable. If you missed the aKing t-shirt exhibition you missed the start of a small but important change in the way music, art and commercial success are coming together. In their words: By presenting this work in a gallery...

If you're fan of Eboy, but like your pixel art dark, browse through some of the larger collections of work done by freelance pixel illustrator Justin Dingle. He uses the same illustration method as the popular artist, but includes his own dark twist to the pieces.
A new magazine hit the shelves recently called Bruce Lee, the brainchild of The President, under guidance from the respected creative genius Peet Pienaar. The magazine, entitled MK Bruce Lee, is packaged in Lucky Packet format and the first issue contains a 128 page handbook with A-Z guidelines on how to start your own band, plus signed posters from top South Africa bands including Van Coke Kartel, aKing and Jax Panik, as well as postcards of South African music industry heros and fun stickers. The campaign has already won a golden Pendoring for design, as well as being featured in Creative Review. Here at 10and5 we haven't gotten hold of our own copy yet, but we'd love it if it magically appeared on our doorstep.
Elmarie Lategan is an artist who does painting using photography and light. A comprehensive list of work is available on her site, and she also sells most of her work through an online store. See more pics after the link.
Leezl le Roux - Levels of Mysterium With the end of the year in full swing, pretty much all of the design schools' students are spending late nights tweaking and setting up their final year work. Last night was the opening night of the Jan van Riebeeck High school Matric final year exhibition. We had the opportunity to browse through some of the works and were very impressed by the caliber and high standards. You can view all a gallery of the works by clicking here. Here at 10and5 we've decided to make November Student Showcase month - I can remember that my matric final year work never really went anywhere after the exhibition (which might not be a bad thing!), so hopefully we'll have a gallery of great works soon. We'll be featuring some of the top works by local students from Stellenbosch, Vega, AAA, City Varsity and more. Naturally we'll still be featuring the normal agency and freelance work, but you might find more works by students in November. If you are a lecturer or faculty member at a design school, please do get in touch with us - our email is contact at 10and5.com.
