PUMA Unity - Of The Same Earth PUMA Unity is taking the PUMA Party Safari all around South Africa. They've already visited Joburg, Pretoria and PE, this Friday they'll be in Cape Town. The parties feature the usual 5fm crowd as well as Die Antwoord, Gazelle and The Wedding DJs. Here's a rationale from the brand: ‘Fuhrer makes Tees, they are quality, from the fabric to the printing. ubuntu collection inoue-brother-gazelle-ubuntu-collection-1 The Inoue Brothers was founded in 2004 by Japanese brothers Satoru and Kiyoshi Inoue - born and raised in Copenhagen, Denmark. A design/art studio based on a common love for two cultures, Japanese sensibility and Scandinavian simplicity. The brothers have collaborated with the djing, blogging, designing, art directing Créol Brothers (born in Mauritius and raised in Tanzania and Denmark and now working in advertising and PR in Amsterdam and Copenhagen) and with SA's own Gazelle to create a line of T-shirts entitled The Ubuntu Collection 'I am because we are'. Each tee is African inspired and comes with a beaded USB stick featuring behind the scenes images, portraits of the people of Khayelitsha, a short film by The Inoue Brothers & Gazelle and exclusive music tracks from Gazelle. Camilla Grobler's drawings Camilla Grobler is a Durban girl. She studied a three-year diploma in Graphic Design at Durban University of Technology, then went on to work at Durban advertising agency Modern Museum, where she has been for almost two years. Local laaitie tags Local Laaitie is a line of children's clothing designed and founded by Marea Lewis. The label is stocked at The Rainbow Experience in Mandela Square and dresses are stocked at Jellyfish at 210 on Long in Cape Town. amor coetzee photography Amor discovered photography when she was 11 and after high school went on to complete a degree in the medium at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University. She is now working from Cape Town. Conceptual, obscure imagery and digital manipulation is her niche but she also specialises in creative retouching and beauty/fashion photography. Masa Martinovic illustration 1 Masa Martinovic is one talented lady with a love for fashion design and illustration. She has had her own fashion label called Electron Cloud and a jewellery label called Bitter Sweet that sold at Nylon in Long Str. Her designs have been featured in Seventeen, SL Magazine and Glamour and she is currently designing for Earthchild Clothing. This is what she has to say, 'I'm very passionate about both fashion and illustration - and the combination of the two is something that I have always loved. I have been very torn between the two aspects of design, but I've decided I will work hard to have my cake and eat it too - and would love to one day have my own label again and have my graphic novel published at the same time.'
