Jake Michael Singer x 10and5 are raising funds for immediate aid in the fight against COVID-19 by helping Witkoppen Health and Welfare Clinic in its work in South Africa’s most disenfranchised communities. Donating to this cause will give you the chance to win this original sculpture by Singer, whom is represented by THK Gallery, titled “Apollo’s Murmur.”

So how does this work?

Donation denominations are in R250 increments, and you can donate as much as you wish, each donation equals 1 donation coupon, which Jake will pick at random to win the Apollo’s Murmur artwork in a live Artist Interview hosted on the 25th of May.
All donations will receive an invite to the live artist interview.
Donations over R2,000 (i.e. 8 tickets) will also be eligible for a second draw of one of Jake’s drawings.
When do donations close?
Donations close on 25 May 2020 at 09:00.
The live donation handover and draw will happen on 25 May 2020 at 11:00.
What if I want to donate more?

Is my donation tax deductable?
Unfortunately not – 10and5 is not a registered charity and is merely facilitating the fundraising process.

About the Artist Jake Michael Singer

Jake Michael Singer (b. Johannesburg, 1991) is a transdisciplinary artist whose practice is primarily concerned with materiality and transformation of everyday objects and their teleologic evolution.
During the course of his 6 year career, Singer has participated in over 70 groups shows and 9 solo shows across Africa, Europe and North America. Solo shows include Gallery Tiny, New York (2020), THK Gallery, Cape Town (2019), Matter Gallery Toronto (2018), Kalashnikovv Gallery, Johannesburg (2018), Punt WG, Amsterdam (2017). Significant group shows include Matereality at Iziko National Gallery, Still here tomorrow to high five you yesterday at Zeitz MOCAA, Kampala Biennale curated by Simon Njami and Suba Biennale, Dakart, Senegal.

Singer holds a degree from Michaelis School of Fine Art, University of Cape Town (2013) and has studied at Central Saint Martins, London. He is the recipient of the Eduordo Vila Foundation Grant in 2016 and 2017. Permanent public sculptures include Dawn Chorus (2019) on the RMB Think Precinct and Roarks Evacuation Plan (2016) on the rooftop of August House which can be seen on the Johannesburg skyline.

Jake is represented by THK Gallery in Cape Town, South Africa.

The full amount, after basic payment processing fee’s have been deducted, will be donated to Witkoppen Health and Welfare Clinic.
The winner is responsible for collecting/shipping the work from the artists studio.
The winner is not required to attend the live interview with the artst.
