Old Mac Daddy The last time we checked in with the Old Mac Daddy Luxury Trailer Hotel, building and designing was still under way. Time has flown and they open their doors to the beautiful Elgin Valley tomorrow. The most exciting part has to be the trailer suites each created with a unique vision from one of the designers/design teams chosen to go totally wild on the themed interiors. Never before have you been able to spend the night in a Yellow Submarine or King Midas trailer. We heard rumours that The Dirkie Sanchez Suite comes complete with Mexican wrestling outfits in the cupboard. Visit the Old Mac Daddy website to take a look at the opening specials which are valid until January 2011, www.oldmacdaddy.co.za Click through to see the mood boards sent in by the chosen designers as proposals for the imaginative trailer interiors.
A sneak preview of what's expected Daddy’s World (who brought you Daddy Long Legs Hotel and the Grand Daddy Hotel and Airstream Penthouse Trailer Park in Cape Town’s Long Street) is bringing some oomph to Elgin in the form of the Old Mac Daddy Luxury Trailer Park due to open in July 2010. Positioned on a pine-slope in the famous fruit-growing Elgin valley, the site consists of twelve vintage Airstream suites and a luxury cottage, Daddy’s Villa, with a central communal facility for meals, meetings, events and leisure activities – as well as lots of fresh air, outdoor spaces, a pool, dams and a kid’s play area. And its all just one hour from Cape Town.
Daddy Bloom Flower Show Call for entries Cape Town’s creative community is being called to enter the first ever , taking place in the Airstream Penthouse Trailer Park on the roof of The Grand Daddy Hotel from the 8th to the 11th of October 2009. Instead of using natures blooms, designers, artists, ceramists, origami experts and textile designers are being encouraged to submit ideas for floral fantasies made from non floral materials - paper to porcelain, wool to wire and any medium in between. This fun project for Cape Town artists have extended the date for submissions to Friday the 11 September 2009. You now have 3 weeks to submit your descriptions/designs and a sample of your work.
